I have 2 students that attend ABES. Oldest since K5 and is now in kindergarten. We love the teachers, education and staff and the community involvement. Wouldn't send my kids anywhere else!

I am a parent of 2 students who attend ABES and we think it is a great school with a very caring staff. They care about each student and work very hard to make sure that all children are kept safe and get the highest possible education.

A school is only as good as it's leaders. I have never been so impressed with a principal! We moved here this December and couldn't be happier. Our sons teachers are top notch and really invest in him and his progress. We had heard some bad stuff about the Florida school system but Apollo Beach has stood out as a real gem of a school.

A fantastic staff, dedicated and involved. The school has gone through a major reconstruction and is beautiful! My children are loving it here! Their grades have also improved over the course of the year.

I went to Apollo Beach Elementary when I was a child and now my daughter attends this school too. She is now in second grade and this school as been wonderful for her. The school is clean and was freshly painted over the summer of 08. The teachers are wonderful and many of them have been their for quit a few years. The teachers and administration reallly care about these students.

Mr.Roth,The principal is most devoted to his students. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. And that the way he leads the faculty. There is always something going on to keep the children excited about learning.I was extremely impressed!

My son no longer attends Apollo Beach Elementary. I found the school to be older and dirty, and they didn't have age-appropriate materials in the classroom. They also seem to have an exceptionally high turn over rate with the staff, which is a red flag to me.

I have two children at this school and have been pleasantly surprised by it since they started. I hadn't heard good things about FL public schools in general, but my children have gotten a great, individualized education and have had uniformly intelligent, caring teachers. While I have also seen the lack of resources other parents have mentioned, nothing I have seen reflected poorly on this school in particular, but on the district itself (which is way too large and unwieldy, policies and actions can be very un-child-friendly). I've also been amazed at the parent involvement -- very impressive to me. The administration and office-staff seemed a bit cold to me until I had been at the school longer, but now that I know their personalities, I have no complaints.

Wave of happy students? SHOW ME? My children attend this school and I am in the process of getting them out of there. The faculty doesn't even seem happy to be there. My children were top students and high achievers until this school. They hate it there, and I can tell why when I go, it is a miserable, run down hole. The school is unkept, the kids are unruly and the plave is chaos. Forget CASINO night and GOLF tournaments people, how about mowing the grass and making the place smell better. How about teachers who seem to TRULY care about your child and their progress. This school needs a COMPLETE over haul, DON'T SEND YOUR KIDS HERE..the priorities are not in order.

August 31, 2006 This is my son's second year here & so far we're not very pleased. The first graders don't have the materials they need(no workbooks, which after a month of being in school I find unacceptable), the work that Is sent home is missing instruction sheets or any directions at all. I think there is too much homework for 6 year olds and I'm wondering why this school doesn't have a well running copy machine when it is so clearly needed. Hopefully, we will get some answers in tonight's meeting regarding the educational materials, etc.. (on another note, I never heard of a school Not doing fundraisers such as wrapping paper and the like. Casino Night & Gold Tournaments get Very expensive) Mr. & Mrs. Duckstein

Apollo Beach Elementary is a great school.I have three children there, from grades 1-5.Everyone there is looking out for our children's best interest and learning potential. They have have a great staff, and excellent students. And just to let you know, they have the best guidance counselor out there.Mrs.Dickson is the sweetest person, and her door is always open.I would not want my children going anywhere else.

I feel this school has alot of fixing to do.. The principle and assistant Principle act like everyone is a robot and that they know whats best for your child.. they listen with a blankness then do as they wish. I have also found that not all that they say is true. It will be nice when they can go to another school..

Very involved pricipal and staff, friendly, well mannered students. A great deal of pressure is put on the FCAT score. We have a very diverse school and many walks of life, which makes Apollo Beach Elementary so diverse. We have alternatives for educating our students, but a grade is only for the masses, come to our school and feel the wave of happy students. Success is to be measured in more than one test.

Too much importance is placed on the fcat. The support for ESE students is unacceptable. I was made to feel guilty that I wanted my child in LD classes, and strongly encouraged to put her in regular classes. Against my feelings, we decided to put her in regular classes as the suggested, with the stipulation that she be pulled out if at any time she was not succeeding. Report cards were sent home to me with 'C*', and upon conference, the teachers told me she was doing fine. At the end of the year, it was revealed to me that the star meant she did not really have a 'C', and was failing. She was held back a year. I feel if she had remained in LD classes, where they are prepared to handle children with learning issues, she would have passed. This is not an isolated case.

My daughter has been fortunate to have great teachers at Apollo Beach. Every year has been great. This school has a great focus on reading and learing in general. She has learned so much every year. I have been volunteering for five years now and I can see how great a school this is.

My daughter has been going to ABES for the last 2 years. She is doing Great and loves her teachers as well as her school. All of the teachers are very helpful and friendly. The school does a great job of keeping my child safe during the school day. I feel very confident my child is getting an (At) education. I would like to thank Mr. Roth and all of the teachers and PTA members for giving our children a wonderful place to learn and have fun.

Apollo Beach Elementary School has obviously gone 'down' since Mr. Roth has taken charge. My child comes home nearly everyday telling me about fighs and being assalted by other students. And I have talked even to Ms Gerding and that was a JOKE! My child who has been in the school for 5 years and loved the school untill last year, the school started 'going down hill'. My child now refers to ABES as 'Disfunction'! I have been talking to parent's and they have the same opinion, and have no desire to do volenteer anymore.
