Chamberlain High School Reviews

Chamberlain Highschool is the best school in Hillsborough county. The sports teams dominate every other team in the district. It has an especially good wrestling program. Also this school's academics are far above the rest of the districts average.

In my opinion any school is good for your child if they are willing to pay attention and learn. Chamberlain is an ok school it needs to desperately be remodeled asap. As far as the teachers go some are excellent and some just have no idea what there doing and have no clue how to control the classroom. Overall I give chamberlain a C+

Chamberlain has been a very pleasant surprise. The teachers are highly qualified and dedicated. The students love the school and are motivated to excel. I believe my 9th grade son will be prepared to succeed in college and life when he graduates from Chamberlain. The new assistant principals are outstanding.

this is the best high school ever!

I have three 9th graders @ chamberlain. I'm removing them immediately teachers and staff are excellent but the children are lost in the shuffle. Chamberlain needs serious support the staff gives 100 percent what is left of them but we as parents have tide their hands and now the price is being paid.

Parents must stay involved with their children at Chamberlain because no one cares about your child like you you. There are too few teachers and administrators who really take the time to get to know your child so you must be there! Music and athletic departments are good although orchestra suffered last year because there was not a separate band/orchestra leader. This hurt the kids in orchestra. The coaches genuinely care and seem to understand the kids but it seems like their opinions are discounted even though they speak with the voice of years of experience. Zero tolerance policies need to be amended and a Neighborhood Accountability Board put into place. Too many lesser offenses are referred to juvenile justice system that could be handled at the administrative level of the school. Academic programs overall are pretty good and teachers seem qualified. Counselors are too busy to provide individual support.

Chamberlain tries to be a good school The bathrooms were disgusting. The teasching was poor. The teachers swear and yell at the children and less time teaching. We have been to alot of schools, this was one of the worst.

The school has a great atmosphere for learning and the faculty really cares about the students.

The disciplinary actions taken at Chamberlain are not in the best interest of education.

Good teachers, lack of direction from administration hurts morale.

The administration and faculty are trying very hard to create a stimulating and challenging environment with the CAPS program. Since we are only just beginning the program it is difficult to gauge how sucessful they are in this pursuit. It is worrisome that our child does virtually no homework yet maintains high grades. With all of our child's peers working hours each night on homework in IB and various private schools we wonder how prepared for college our child will be. Our child does not appear to be challenged enough but we hear that it increases with each year. We are hopeful and will keep with it for now. The staff is approachable and supportive. They see the CAPS kids as individuals and give them a lot of guidance.

My child enjoys going to chamberlain. Though i find that alot of the teachers find it acceptable to share certain aspects of their personal life with students. This school has never been in a worse condition than now. My daughter finds it difficult to attain her makeup work from teachers. Sanitation is not a major concern to the school officials. The entire school reaks of sewage and the restrooms are repulsive. Overall this school is disgusting. Though i will not blame the entire school for this, the English department is excelent with teachers such as gross, nannis and luksch.

Although the choir program and culinary arts program is very good, the CAPS program lost major direction when Ramsey left. If you are serious about your child's education, I would not have them attend this school.

Chamberlain High School has a wide variety of programs that challenge students to excel in many subject areas. Among the wonderful programs that Chamberlain has to offer are the CAPS (Chamberlain Advanced Placement Scholars) program, and the choir program, run by Mr. Compher. Another riveting program is the culinary program, for which the insrtuctor, Chef Youngs, was nominated for Teacher of the Year. Overall, I would say this school is excellent.

Chamberlain is going downhill. The focus from administration is on trying not to be a 'D' school and keeping a handle on all the discipline issues. The principal is too soft on the students and doesn't know how to support faculty and staff. Quality, experienced teachers are dwindling and the majority of 'newbies' are lost. Some students seem oblivious to the problems, but most have it figured out.

Poor disopline system. Bad kids may get away with wrong doings while innocent kids get punished. ISS for first time offense forgeting ID. Ridiculous. Good sports programs and an excellent chorus but the administration is not on the same page. Student Affairs often makes an excused absense unexcused or a firld trip school buisness unexcused, very disfunctional. Some very caring teachers, a few especially are Mrs. Spack, Mrs. Lincoln, Mr. Workman, and Mrs. Carmody. Some of schhol is very run-dowm but it is nice to see that it has a history.

Academics are great especially the CAPS program but the social environment and electives are not as good.

I attended this school for a short while, and my sister graduated from Chamberlain. At my sister's graduation, the most interesting thing to me was that the principal knew all of the football players and troublemakers my name and was joking around with them, but didn't recognize any of the honor students. He didn't know a single name. That says something about what the administration feels is important. The honors classes are good, though, and overall it's a fine school. Just don't expect the school to pay any attention to your honor student.

I'm not sure what has happened to Chamberlain, but there seems to be a terrible morale problem. The principal seems to be running off good teachers and the discipline problems are getting worse. This school needs help!

Chamberlain has so much to offer, but has some major obstacles to overcome. I'm not sure if the administration has a handle on the discipline issues. There are some very good teachers, but also many unhappy ones.

This school needs help. It has had allot of discipline problems this year and does not seem to be getting any better. Some of the teachers are great, but others need to go. The principal seems OK but possible needs to be more strict with students.

I have been somewhat dismayed by the discipline problems this school is experiencing. I'm not so sure that the administration is taking these problems as seriously as they should be. I think the school is lacking strong leadership and strategies for addressing these issues.

I think that Chamberlain High School is a great place for kids to learn. It is very nice and the teachers are outstanding. I believe that every kid needs to go to Chamberlain because of the highly educated teachers and staff.

I think that this school is a great school. It has the principal leadership it needs to produce successful adults. My daughter attend this school and we, as her parents, feel Chamberlain is one of the best schools in the city of Tampa. The teachers show a remarkable desire to teach any and all students that are willing to learn. I would like to end this by applauding all Hillsborough County Teachers for their dedication to each and every student.
