David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts
When you and your family are looking for a touring Broadway play or an orchestra performance, the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts is your ticket for entertainment. The 335,000 square-foot facility offers many opportunities to listen to musical concerts, watch shows, hear grand operas, and more.
View the online performance calendar to plan your visit.
If you want to grab dinner before your show, The Straz Center houses Maestro's Restaurant, Maestro's Cafe and Maestro's on the River. Enjoy your dinner while overlooking the Tampa skyline, and then head to your designated performance hall to find your seat.
The center for performing arts offers classes for children and adults through the Patel Conservatory. It's never too late to learn beginner's ballet, hip hop dance, modern dance or Latin rhythms. You can also take a voice lesson class, guitar class, cello, violin or piano lessons.
Aspiring actors may be interested in musical theater classes, creative storytelling, Broadway styles and techniques, scene study and dramatic play.
Pick up gifts for theatre enthusiasts at the CenterStore. They've got posters, CDs, music scores and more.
Sponsors include Lexus, Coca-Cola, Verizon, Stella Artois, The Tampa Tribune and Sharp Aquos. Click here for information on becoming a volunteer at the Straz Center.
You might receive tickets at a discount if you are a student, educator, military, senior citizen, Patel Conservatory student or part of a large group.
